Epoxy for boat repairs and building
WEST SYSTEM is the epoxy we rely on for our own epoxy and fibreglass repairs. We stock the full system – resin, hardeners, fillers, additives and tools.
Start with resin and hardener
WEST SYSTEM 105 Epoxy Resin works with four hardeners:
- 205 Fast / 206 Slow – general bonding and coating
- 207 Special Clear – clear finishes on wood and carbon
- 209 Extra Slow – for Malta's summer heat, about twice the working time of 206
Add a filler for the job
- Bonding and fillets: 406 Colloidal Silica, 404 High-Density, 403 Microfibers
- Fairing: 407 Low-Density, 410 Microlight
- Osmosis barrier coats: 422 Barrier Coat Additive
Small repairs
Keep a 105-K Fibreglass Boat Repair Kit on board, or use G/flex for flexible, waterproof bonds on difficult materials. Read epoxy vs fibreglass repairs and what osmosis treatment involves.
