Everything to re-caulk a teak deck
Failing seams let water under the teak and into the deck. Re-caulking in time saves a full deck replacement. We stock the professional caulks and tools – and can do the work for you.
Deck caulks
- ZETA 1200 FC – fast-curing, flexible and UV-resistant, for teak and synthetic decks. Use with ZETA Primer 550.
- TDS SIS 440 – one-part, primerless caulk that cures to a tough, flexible rubber.
The re-caulking steps
- Free the old caulk with a knife, then rake it out with a reefing hook.
- Clean the seam walls with a seam sander.
- Prime if the caulk needs it, apply bond-breaker tape, and caulk with a dispensing gun.
- Sand flush once fully cured.
Laying teak
For bonding planks to the deck, use ZETA Epoxy Deck Glue or ZETA Bonding Paste 1100.
