Varnish that survives the Maltese sun

UV is what kills varnish in Malta. The Epifanes range we stock is built for it, from traditional high-gloss varnish to fast-building and two-pack finishes.

Which varnish?

• Traditional high gloss: Epifanes Clear Varnish – the classic for brightwork, with exceptional flow and build.
• Teak and oily woods: Epifanes Woodfinish Gloss, flexible with UV filter, or the satin Woodfinish Matte.
• Quick and low-maintenance: Epifanes Rapidclear – an easy alternative to conventional varnish.
• Fast build-up, 2–3 coats a day: Epifanes PP Varnish Extra.
• Hardest-wearing: Epifanes Poly-urethane Clear Gloss, two-component.

Good to know

Build up enough coats for UV protection, and add a maintenance coat each season – it is far cheaper than stripping back to bare wood. Use the matching thinner and a quality brush for a finish without brush marks.
